Matt E. swung by the shop to pick up his new custom shoes - a necessity when you wear a size 15 1/2. A beautiful pair of brown saddle boots with Vibram V-Bar soles - a phenomenal pair of boots to say the least.
Randy T. of Chicago just ordered himself some brand new, custom, hand-made boots inspired by the new Mexican fashion trend of insanely pointed boots. These boots are used in performances by men’s dance groups in the sweeping “tribal guarachero” style. The photo above hardly does these puppies justice, check out the “Mexican Pointy Boots” in action here in Vice’s mini-documentary on the style.
We just finished making this beautiful pair of hand-made, custom, Chelsea Boots for artist and sculptor Max Patte of New Zealand and we couldn’t be happier. Steve McQueen inspired, a beautiful, natural, dark-brown patina, and his name on the inside to boot (no pun intended). Max’s work is absolutely insane, check out his portfolio at www.maxpatte.com.
Michael stopped in to do a fitting with Ruby and Al on his new custom-made heather grey peacoat, and ended up getting caught up talkin’ shoe jargin with Al — how to clean leather, how to condition it, the best shoe care, etc.
Evan Hirsch just dropped back into town from Peru to pick up his custom-made leather bomber jacket. Both us and Evan are ecstatic on how it turned out, a beautiful chocolate leather with cream colored accent - and his own name on his own custom label to boot. Now Evan’s off to Canada, putting that jacket to proper use.
Michael Penza just picked up his new custom-made jeans and couldn’t be happier. When you’re all legs, a pair of classic blues just won’t do. We also included a custom riding patch so he can bike around in style and not worry about his pants blowing out.
Yesterday, two of our most favorite people in the world finally tied the knot. A huge congratulations to Jeremy Fish and Jayde Cardinalli. Their ceremony took place in Washington Square Park and afterwords convened at Capo’s for the reception, keepin’ things in the neighborhood each step of the way. Both Jeremy and Jayde had their wedding suit and dress, respectively, made by us, and we couldn’t be happier with the turnout, some of our all-time favorites for sure. Jayde’s non-traditional wedding dress is a beautiful heavy-weight silk with a linen lining and custom-made gold heels; Jeremy’s suit is an espresso seersucker with matching tie and custom shoes to boot.
